Banff

What a fantastic place!! Survived the 34 hrs of the 'sitting' position in car/plane and we are enjoying this beautiful country. We left straight from the airport in Vancouver to Kamloops and booked into the 'dreamlodge'. Ha ha hardly a dream, but good enough for our half way house to Banff!!! Sunday was a day on the road, and it was a hardly a challenge with the awesome scenery! We got to Banff in time for our 4pm helicopter ride over the rockies, BEST way to see the area and capture the beauty of the countryside! Jetlag caught up with us, and we were v early to bed!

Today was a look around Banff 'downtown' and breaky on the river. Then out to white water rafting on the Kanaskis river. There has been loads of rain, so the river is flowing fast, not a lot of adrenalin rushing white water, but certainly a lovely ride down stream! AND a freezing swim at the end!

Ride up the Banff Gondola to finish the day was a real highlight! Just the best views in all directions and glorious weather up the top! Fnished the day at the pub with a beer and burger, and really ready for bed now. Still gettting used to this time zone, and the fact that the sun is only just going down now at 10.30pm! Loving the daylight though!

Lake Loiuse tommorow, and then we are looking forward to getting out into some open farming country and starting the farming travel/tours.
